Theme park bans screaming on new roller coaster

For many thrill seekers, part of the fun of death-defying coasters is being able to let loose with a blood curdling scream.

But riders of The Big One at The Big Sheep amusement park in the U.K. have been told to tone it down to avoid upsetting those who live close to the park, reports the Mirror.

The coaster, which is over 1,300 feet long and drops riders from 42 feet, opened Friday following a five-year battle over planning permissions with local residents who reportedly complained that the new ride would be “intrusive.”

The thrill ride is being promoted as ­­­­“Devon's biggest, highest and longest rollercoaster” but a sign that appears at the ride’s entrance reads  “This is a family ride – not a white knuckle thrill ride. Enjoy the views but we love our neighbours. PLEASE DO NOT SHOUT OR SCREAM! Thank ewe.”
