VIDEO: 35-foot humpback whale stuck on sandbar for hours

A 35-foot humpback whale that appears to be stuck on a sandbar. 

According to police who gathered to watch, the big fella was finally able to free himself after 2.5 hours! Crowds that gathered cheered on his success as he swam away. 

An official with the Town of Duck said two other whales also were spotted in the distance on the other side of the sandbar for the stuck whale to free itself - and get into deeper waters.
