Deputy jumps onto runaway semi-trailer

- A Nebraska sheriff's deputy is being hailed a hero after jumping onto a runaway semi-trailer to save a driver who was passed out at the wheel.

Deputies responded to a 911 call about a reckless semi on U.S. Highway 81 in in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Deputies said they caught up with the truck, but it wouldn't stop. The deputy was able to leap from his cruiser, onto the highway and onto the truck when the truck began to slow.

Deputies said the semi was close to a busy bridge at the time. The driver was suffering from some sort of medical condition, possibly a diabetic reaction.
