WATCH: Man rescued from car roof in California floodwaters

The storm that drenched California this week brought much-needed rain to the state, which has been slipping back into drought conditions due to a dry winter that only turned wet and snowy this month.

The California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) shared footage of a dramatic rescue of a man stranded in floodwaters in Sacramento on March 22.

KRON4 reported that Cal OES was shooting a public safety announcement video on the dangers of flood waters when it captured the rescue.

The man was uninjured, the outlet reported, and it’s unclear how he got stuck in the flooded area.

Forecasters said Southern California would see mostly benign weather in coming days, but northern and eastern California could expect heavy snow in the mountains from Friday afternoon through Sunday as two new systems moved through.
