Coleman Middle School has done it again. The robotics team has qualified for the world championships.

Coleman Middle School Robotics School Teacher Brian Jonas has walls lined with first place banners from state competitions.

"This is our fourth year. We've been state champions three times and finished second place the other year so we are off to a pretty good start," said Coach Jonas.

Last month, the 13-member team qualified for the 2019 VEX IQ Florida State Championships. Now they're on to the Robotics World Championships.

"It's really exciting. I know all of us on the team are really, really happy," said student Maddie Matthews.

The group is now heading to Louisville, Kentucky for the largest stage in high school robotics.

They will compete against 500 teams from around the world.

Student team member Owen Owens says, "What's fun about it is building your robot and putting it together and seeing it work and be successful."

The team is excited for the opportunity to show off their skills and take learning to a higher level.
