TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - It's a big performance for some little voices.
Students from Sullivan Elementary School in Tampa are learning singing and dancing thanks to a free program from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
"They have all this energy and I feel like the dance and music really helps them," said instructor Deisha King.
The program is a partnership between the school and the Straz.
"This is just something that's really vital to their development and to their growth," said Heather Clark, the programs coordinator for the Straz.
Many of the students reside at Metropolitan Ministries.
"This partnership is so important because without it we couldn't provide this to the children," said Justine Burke, the senior director of marketing for Metropolitan Ministries.
"You know performing arts and being creative, it really lets them forget about their current situation and allows them to express themselves and have fun," she said.
