Austin Peay fans invade field after snapping 29-game losing streak

- Austin Peay Governors football fans celebrated the team's first competitive win in 29 games by invading the field at Fortera Stadium, and bringing down the both goal posts.

The Governors ended the longest losing streak in their history on Saturday night with a a 69-13 win over Morehead State in Clarksville, Tennessee. The victory was their first since October 18, 2014.

A clip shared to the team's Twitter account showed hundreds of its fans streaming onto the field after the final whistle blew.

Austin Peay (1-2) dominated on both sides of the ball, piling up 668 total yards while holding Morehead State to just 77 yards rushing and 347 overall to end the longest active NCAA Division I losing streak. The Governors converted on all but four of its possessions in the game.

JaVaughn Craig was 8 of 12 for 118 yards passing and had 37 yards on the ground, including touchdown runs from the 3, the 5 and two from the 1.

Jeremiah Oatsvall, who had 73 yards passing, got a 31-yard touchdown run in the second quarter followed by a 14-yard rushing TD less than three minutes later. Also scoring for Austin Peay was Kyran Moore, Ahmaad Tanner, Tre Nation and Prince Momodu.

Kentel Williams finished with a career-high 203 yards on eight carries.

Jarin Higginbotham had two touchdown catches for Morehead State (1-2), which had four turnovers that led to three Austin Peay touchdowns.
