The Bucs hiring of Bruce Arians filled the airwaves Wednesday, especially at 620 WDAE. Callers filled the phone lines with their opinions.

“Looks like a fresh start for the Bucs,” said one caller.

“I’m extremely excited and optimistic about next season,” said another fan.

Radio host Aaron Jacobson praised the hire.

“Buc-o-Bruce, baby! Everyone gets excited for this, this is the energy we're talking about,” he said.

All laughing aside, Arians does face a steep climb; the Bucs have not played in the playoffs in 11 years.

“The first word to me that comes to mind is credibility he's got credibility he's done it multiple places,” said radio host Pat Donovan.

Even Backstreet Boy and longtime Buccaneers fan Nick Carter was happy to weigh in on the Bucs twelfth head coaching hire.

“We're coming your way!  So Bruce, welcome to Tampa,” he tweeted to his fans.

Arians will be introduced by the Buccaneers Thursday at 2:30 from inside the AdventHealth Training Center.
