Calling the races at Tampa Bay Downs

- A day at Tampa Bay Downs is a collection of time-honored traditions.  The face of the track is actually just a voice -- the famous voice of Richard Grunder.  He has been the voice of Tampa Bay Downs for over 30 years.

To get to the announcer booth, it took a dream, drive, and determination by Richard.  The dream started when he was just a small child growing up with a family that loved horse racing.

I have always wanted to call a horse race at Tampa Bay Downs.  The one problem is that I don't really know the difference between a flag pole and the quarter pole at the track.  I am not sure that Richard was aware of that when he agreed to share his microphone for a real race at Tampa Bay Downs.
