Deshaun Watson donates game check to 3 cafeteria workers impacted by Harvey

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson might be a rookie, but he’s already proving to be an important part of the team AND the community. Recently he donated his first game check to three women who work in the team’s cafeteria at NRG Stadium.

Deshaun knows what it feels like to receive a helping hand. He and his family received a house built by Habitat for Humanity when he was younger. That gesture was not lost on Deshaun, and he helps people in his community any way he can.

According to ESPN, the women lost all of their possessions in the floods from Hurricane Harvey, and he surprised them with a check for $27,353.

In a video of the heartwarming moment, Deshaun says, “For what you all do for us every day and never complain, I really appreciate you all, so I wanted to give my first game check to y’all to help y’all out in some type of way, here you guys go.”

As the women hugged and thanked the superstar, Deshaun continued, “Hopefully that helps you get back on your feet. And anything else you all need, I’m always here to help.”
