TAMPA (FOX 13) - The Tampa Bay Lightning made a big move as the trade deadline loomed -- it just wasn't the one that many fans were expecting.
With the price for Erik Karlsson apparently too high, Bolts general manager Steve Yzerman instead grabbed New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh and his teammate, left winger J.T. Miller.
For the pair, the Lightning give up Vlad Namestnikov, Libor Hajek, and Brett Howden, along with a 2018 first-round pick and conditional 2019 second-round pick.
Karlsson, the subject of much deadline-day speculation, wound up staying with Ottawa.
