SCAM ALERT: Story about Brad Pitt's death is a hoax and a scam

There is a fake news story circulating about the death of Brad Pitt, and not only is it NOT TRUE, it is a dangerous scam.

The post on Facebook appears as a breaking news story from FOX News. However, when users click on the story, it redirects users to a pop-up window requesting permission to continue.

Users who enter their information or click on it are actually granting the scammers permission access to their Facebook user profile information and are redirected to a fake news story about the actor's death, according to Snopes.

The scam began circulating after actress Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from the 52-year-old actor last week.
