Elf on a Shelf caught on camera returning to North Pole

A FOX 7 Facebook fan shared a video of the "Elf on a Shelf" flying away, presumably back to his home at the North Pole.

The video was posted with the caption, "I can't believe I actually caught this guy flying away. Proof it's real!!"

FOX 7 reached out to Santa Claus for comment.  According to Mr. Claus "We send out elves all around the world to collect wish list and assess the goodness of little boys and girls.  It will be great to see all their little smiling elf faces.  We need them now more than ever to help process last minute gifts."

Many local children and adults were sad to see their Elf go home for the Holidays.

FOX 7's Amanda Salinas held a going away party for their elf Max earlier today.

Salinas says that it is, "It's tough to see Max go, but we know he will be back next year."

Max could not be reached at this time for comment.
