Australian officers on patrol boat have close encounter with whale

- Police officers in Australia were treated to an up-close encounter with a massive whale.

The amazing encounter with a whale off the coast of Queensland, with the whale giving them an up close and personal look at its size as it circled around their patrol boat on Sunday.

The whale was seen shooting water from its blow hole, and smacking the water with one of its fins. Before the mammal swam off, the officers grabbed a quick selfie with their unexpected guest, and gave two thumbs up.

It's unclear what type of whale it was.
