Chihuahua leads troopers on chase across Bay Bridge

- An early morning police chase stopped traffic on California's Bay Bridge, but instead of a suspect, patrolmen were chasing…..a Chihuahua!

The California Highway Patrol says they received calls about the dog on the bridge early Sunday morning.

An officer on a motorcycle tried picking up the dog, but the little guy started running down the westbound lanes of the bridge, heading from Oakland to San Francisco.

A team of officers was eventually able to box the pooch in and haul him to safety, and officials say the dog was not injured in the process.

Police Monday were doing what they could to reunite the bridge-runner with its owner.
