Dodge creates "quickest car in the world"

It’s called the most powerful American car ever made.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is also the quickest car in the world. Its 6.2-liter V8 engine is rated at 808 horsepower, and 840 when it’s running on race gas. The vehicle is currently in the production.

"We wanted this to meet all the emissions and all the durability objects that any other SRT has,” said Jim Wilder, vehicle development manager. “So, you need to bake that in to when you’re putting the pieces together, the parts together for the engine. You need to make them strong enough to make 840 horsepower and last for the hours and hours.”

The Demon can cover a quarter of a mile in 9.65 seconds and even lift its front wheels off the ground. Its starting price is $86,000. However, there are its skeptics. Automotive News ran an editorial saying it should be banned and it’s too powerful.

“Everybody that does buy one gets one day at the Bondurant School of Performance Driving, so they can learn how to handle it and how to drive it and have fun with it,” said Matt Mcalear, product senior manager.

One other factor about the car is you don’t have to share the experience with anyone, because it only comes with one seat. But you can get the others for one dollar each.
