Fisherman gets up close and personal to free 7-foot shark

- A fisherman in Texas did his best, with some assistance, to save a shark he caught.

The fisherman caught what appeared to be a tiger shark on Wednesday, and then struggled for an hour to coax it back into the water and released it.

While visiting the pier with her husband, Paola Davila saw the fisherman and others guiding the seven-foot shark towards shallow water, and captured it all on video.

Davila described to Storyful the lengths that the fisherman went to keep the animal calm. “He even poured water on her to keep her hydrated and rubbed her to calm down,” she said. “We all said she belongs out there."
