PENSACOLA, Fla. (FOX 13) - A Florida charter cruise had a surprise shark encounter.
A group on a private fishing trip were out to sea near Pensacola when a great white shark swam up beside their boat. The captain of Hot Spots Charter recorded about 40 seconds of the shark, which was about nine to ten feet long.
He said they followed the shark for about five minutes as the shark stayed near the surface, perhaps hoping for a free meal of fishing leftovers.
The captain said the shark didn’t appear aggressive, and eventually went down below the surface and headed back out to sea.
