Police body camera shows fiery explosion

LIMESTONE, Maine (FOX 13) - Police in Maine released dramatic body-camera footage that shows firefighters and a policeman being thrown to the ground by a propane tank explosion last week.

The incident occurred on Thursday, when the Limestone Police Department and firefighter crews responded to a fire near a home.

As crews battled the flames, a propane tank caught fire and exploded.

In the video, the policeman and a member of the fire crew are thrown to the ground from the blast.

Both men quickly got back up and ran to firefighter Scott Patten, who was nearest to the explosion, yelling, "Get 'em, get 'em, get 'em!"

The men were able to safely move Patten away from the source of the explosion.

Police Chief Stacy Mahan said, "This incident is a prime example of how things can change in an instant."

Mahan posted the footage on the police department's Facebook page along with the message, "'You know the old saying, 'Why did God make Firefighters?'.....'so cops could have heroes.'"

According to reports, no one was seriously injured.
