Pups in Australia take part in surfing competition

A surfing competition in Australia featured some talented four-legged competitors. The "Dog Spectacular" on Australia's sunshine coast is the only event in the world where the dogs surf with their masters.

Participants said they're proud of their furry companions for putting in all the hard work. "I'm pretty proud of him for staying on the board for the whole time. I was thinking at some point that he was going to jump off but no, he stayed, he trusted me enough to stay," said Kerry Pitman.

In addition to having fun, part of the event's purpose is to bring more attention to caring for stray animals and providing resources to animal rescue centers.
