Thousands of lightning strikes recorded during Arizona storm

- A dramatic flash of lightning was spotted in Arizona.

Katrina Taylor captured video showing one of 35,000 lightning flashes during the stormy weather on Monday night. The bolt branched out in separate directions, resembling a tree. The National Weather Service counted 4,000 lightning strikes.

A major monsoon storm traveled through the Phoenix-metro area that night. Nearly 41,000 homes in the area of north-central Phoenix and Glendale lost power, according to The Arizona Republic.
