GREENFIELD, Ind. (FOX 13) - A traffic stop led to the discovery of an SUV full of marijuana on Monday and ended with the arrest of the two men inside.
According to the Indiana State Police, a trooper spotted the Ford Expedition weaving in and out of lanes along Interstate 70 near Greenfield, which is east of Indianapolis. Bags of marijuana were allegedly stacked to the SUV’s ceiling – more than 78 pounds in all.
The driver, a 51-year-old Colorado man, and his passenger, a 42-year-old Indianapolis man, were both arrested.
Troopers say the marijuana has an estimated street value of around $250,000.
“Somebody’s 4/20 celebration is canceled,” an ISP spokesman quipped on Twitter.
