NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (FOX 13) - Mr. Pastrami in New Port Richey is a Brooklyn-style deli owned by native Brooklynites who have been in the restaurant biz for more than 30 years. While their story is a good one, it’s not what drew FOX 13 viewers AnneMarie and Ron Nece to the spot.
Instead, it was the food.
That’s why they brought FOX 13’s Chip Brewster and his Bay Area Best segment to the relatively new spot.
“Everything is good. There is nothing that I’ve had here that’s bad,” offered Ron.
And his opinion is one that you should trust. Ron has literally had every single item on Mr. Pastrami’s menu. When asked, he says it’s hard to pick a favorite but does speak highly of his very first sandwich, the Oh My Pastrami.
“It’s the first one I tried and I fell in love with the place from there,” Ron continued.
He and his wife have frequented the spot nearly once a week since first finding it last fall. Despite all of those visits, however, AnneMarie has not quite worked her way through the entire menu like her husband. She has simpler tastes and gets the exact same order every time they go: Grilled cheese, coleslaw, and iced tea. She says there’s just something about it that she can’t replicate at home.
Mr. Pastrami is located at 5417 U.S. Hwy 19 in New Port Richey. Their hours are:
- Monday - Saturday: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Sunday: Closed
They can be reached by phone at: (727) 817-0707, and their website is mrpastraminpr.net
