Police responded to what they thought might be a bank robbery in Dade City this morning, but it turned out to be a misunderstanding.

According to a police spokesman, a teller at the Wells Fargo on 7th Street reported that a customer had carried what appeared to be a gun into the bank, then left and drove away.

Police caught up with the car a few minutes later and stopped the couple, a husband and wife.

The gun turned out to be a cell phone game controller shaped like a gun, police said.

The man said that he was just waiting for his wife to finish her transaction at the bank. No charges were filed.
