Shooting reported at Kentucky State University, gov says

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced on social media Tuesday that officials are aware of a reported shooting at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, where there are "some injuries." A suspect has been arrested.

One person has died and another was critically injured after a shooting at Kentucky State University on Tuesday. 

A suspect is in custody and investigators are at the campus, according to a tweet posted by Gov. Andy Beshear.

"We are aware of a reported shooting at Kentucky State University in Frankfort. At this time, we are aware of some injuries. We will share more information as available. Law enforcement are on scene, and a suspect has been arrested. Let’s pray for all those affected."

What we know:

University officials confirmed to local news media that a shooting took place on the school’s south campus. 

Officials with the Frankfort Police Department said the school would be on lock down until further notice, according to WKYT.
