TAMPA (FOX 13) - One person was arrested after starting a fire inside a Tampa home, firefighters say.
A Tampa police officer drove near the house at 2006 East 33rd Avenue and saw a fire inside the garage. The officer contacted Tampa Fire Rescue and units arrived around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the garage and through the roof. Fire officials say the fire destroyed half of the home, and the fire was under control in about 30 minutes.
Four adults and two juveniles live inside the home but they were not injured. The man, who has not been identified, was charged with arson for setting fire to a couch in the garage, according to Tampa fire officials.
