TAMPA, Fla (FOX 13) - For one Riverview family, Christmas came early after her church decided to surprise her with a new van Sunday morning.
As a mother of two and foster mom to three other kids, Teaira Williams is used to making sacrifices.
"She's done a lot for the house. She's a single mother, and she deserves a lot more than what she's credited for," said Jeremiah Williams, Teaira's son.
When her car broke down last month, she started to save up money for a down payment on a new vehicle. Instead, she gave that money to her mother when she needed financial help.
"She just had a situation that came up where she needed some extra finances, so I wanted to be a blessing to my mom to help her," said Teaira Williams.
With plans to take in another foster child in January, Williams was in dire need of a car. That's when members from Reliant Family Church and Integrity Motors stepped in, gifting the family a brand new minivan.
"She had no idea, it was unexpected. And so it was just wonderful to be able to give, and to see the expression on the children's faces and her face. It was fabulous," said Jennifer Mallan, lead pastor of Reliant Family Church.
For Williams, the new car is a Christmas miracle and an answer to prayer.
"God relieved me of such a big burden," said Williams. "We want to be able to travel as a family and go and do things, and me being a single parent, not having that burden to worry about a car payment is such a big blessing."
She said she's extra thankful. Adding that for her and her kids, Christmas came just a few days early.
"Me and my older kids both said, if we didn't get anything for Christmas, we got Christmas for years," said Williams.
The church also gave the kids toys and other presents to open Christmas morning.
