Ryan Burkett is a proud Tampa native who came home to join the digital team at FOX 13 News in March 2024.
Ryan holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa and a master’s from the University of Central Florida, both in communication with a focus on journalism.
After stops at WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky, and WALB-TV and Albany, Georgia, Ryan spent nine years at WKMG-TV in Orlando as a news producer. While in Orlando, he covered major stories including the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting, several hurricanes and historic rocket launches. He also produced the annual Fourth of July "Fireworks at the Fountain" live special in conjunction with the City of Orlando.
Ryan grew up watching FOX 13 and is glad to be back home sharing his strong passion for news and all things broadcasting.
When he’s not helping keep the Bay Area informed, Ryan enjoys sports – especially the Rays, Bucs and Lightning – along with family and friends, music, and traveling (road trips are his favorite!).
