Bay Area Chipotle restaurants affected by security breach

Chipotle Mexican Grill says there was a security breach that affected more than 15 Tampa Bay area locations.

The chain identified malware that was trying to access payment card data at Chipotle Restaurants between March 24 and April 18.

The data includes cardholders' names, card numbers, expiration dates and verification codes, information on the magnetic strip that's processed in the point of sale device.

Chipotle urges customers who may have paid by debit or credit card between those dates to check their bank statements and account information to look for any fraudulent activity or unauthorized charges.

Anyone with questions can call 888-738-0534.

The malware has since been removed.
