Firefighters rescue puppy stuck in sewer pipe in Ballantyne

- Multiple crews, including the Charlotte Fire Department, worked quickly to rescue a puppy Thursday morning that fell into a sewer pipe in Ballantyne. 

The accident occurred in the 9900 block of Evergreen Terrace Drive. 

According to Charlotte Fire, the puppy fell in the sewer pipe approximately six feet down. Charlotte Water also assisted. 

Crews ripped the road open and installed a trench box for digging. Crews dug about 7.5 feet in the street. HAZMAT teams used cameras to track the puppy inside the pipe.
