A sinkhole in a South Florida fast food restaurant parking lot gobbled up a car this afternoon, but the people inside managed to escape unharmed.

The woman and her grandson were apparently headed to the drive-thru at the McDonald's in Cooper City when their Toyota SUV sank into the watery mess.  Photos from the Broward County Sheriff's Office showed the SUV teetering on the edge of the pit with its back tires off the ground.

The Miami Herald reported that the woman and the 4-year-old boy were not hurt.

The sinkhole was caused by a water main break, deputies added.
