Clearwater police investigating hit-and-run

- Clearwater Police are investigating a hit and run that seriously injured a woman.

The pedestrian, Nekeshia Lloyd, 35, of St. Petersburg, was struck by a vehicle on Sunday morning. The crash occurred in the 1300 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue between 1:21 a.m. and 1:41 a.m., according to police.

She was found on the road and taken to Morton Plant Hospital. Detectives said she has been in a medically-induced coma for most of the time since the accident, so they haven't been able to speak with her. She has fractures in her neck and pelvis.

No debris was found in the accident scene. Clearwater Police are asking for anyone with information to call them at 727-562-4242 or email tips@myclearwater.com.
