Coast Guard Medevacs man from fishing vessel off Venice

- The Coast Guard had to fly Steve Wager, 27, off a fishing vessel 60 miles west of Venice Saturday evening.

Members of the Coast Guard, St. Petersburg Sector, said watch standers received a radio call around 7:40 p.m. Wager was suffering symptoms of a seizure. He was on a 35-foot fishing boat with four other people.

About 30 minutes later, A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was launched to the boat.

They arrived an hour later and took Wager to a Tampa hospital for treatment.
