Investigators search for murdered Tampa man's vehicle

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. (FOX 13) - A Tampa man's body was found floating in a pond in Pasco County more than two weeks after he went missing.

Loved ones and investigators are now trying to figure out what happened to Carlos Saint Louis.

"A family guy, just loved life, you know, he was definitely a good brother to me," said Michael Saint Louis.

Carlos’ family is leaning on their faith for strength after getting the news this week the 38-year-old was murdered. Carlos left the house Feb. 2 and was never seen alive again.

"He was going out to meet up with some friends. From there, he texted my brother and said he was a couple hours away and would be heading home," Michael said. "But he never made it back."

Michael says it was normal for the 38-year-old to go away for the weekend but when he didn't show up for work Feb. 4, they knew something was wrong.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office tells FOX 13 News a homeless person discovered Carlos' body Tuesday afternoon. It was floating in a pond in a wooded area behind a Zephyrhills shopping center.  The case is being investigated as a homicide.

"It's kind of a remote wooded area, I mean there are buildings nearby but someone would have had to, looks like they had to go there and dump the body in that pond,” said Kevin Doll with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. “So [they were] obviously trying to, maybe, get rid of the body."

What investigators don't know is where Carlos was and what he was doing between Feb. 2 and 19. 

He was last seen driving his gray, 2015 Chevrolet Sonic LT, which has front-end damage on the passenger side. 

The car is still missing.

"Holding up, it’s tough, it's hard, very unexpected,” Michael said.

Carlos' family says they want justice, and whoever did this off the streets.

"Just turn yourself in; because it's not right, you know what I mean, it's not right to take another life," said Michael.

Anyone who saw Carlos on or after February 2, knows where his car is, or knows anything about what happened, is asked to call the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward in this case.
