The longtime owner of Jimbo’s Pit Bar-B-Q in Lakeland has passed away.

Harold Hans “Happy” Lehman died at the age of 86 and peacefully passed away at his home on Tuesday, according to his obituary, published in The Ledger. The iconic restaurant posted its sentiments onto its Facebook page, writing, “We lost an incredible man. Our Dad, Granddad, Jimbo, Happy and Harold. Known by all these names, he was an incredible person with a personality that lit up the room. We will love and miss him dearly but will be forever grateful for the legacy he left us! Glad your pain is gone and you have sweet rest!”

Lehman moved to Umatilla, Florida from Pennsylvania in 1944, and attended Lakeland Junior and Senior High School before joining the U.S. Army. When he returned home, he worked as a manager for Jimbo’s Pit Bar-B-Q before purchasing the business.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Lehman, three children, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
