Man dies in Tampa mobile home fire

- A man died in a fire that destroyed his mobile home in the Jersey Mobile Home Park on E Linebaugh Avenue.

Tampa Fire Rescue says the call came in at 4:30 p.m.

When crews arrived there were heavy flames coming from the side of the single-wide mobile home.

They say a neighbor broke a window trying to rescue the man who lived there but was unsuccessful. He was found deceased inside.

The neighbor had minor injuries and was transported to Tampa General Hospital.

The Arson Task Force was called out as is standard protocol when there is fire-related death, but Tampa Fire Rescue says the fire does not appear suspicious at this time.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
