Man who killed 3-year-old daughter, her mother sentenced to life

Convicted murderer Lester Ross, Jr. was sentenced to life in prison Thursday. He said nothing as the judge handed down his pronouncement.

It was just what Edith Fletcher, whose daughter and granddaughter were killed, said she hoped for.

"I want him to suffer a little, like they did," Fletcher explained.

Three months ago, Ross was convicted of killing his 3-year-old daughter, MaSarah Ross, and her mother Ronkeya Holmes in 2010.

Holmes died after drinking Coca Cola laced with rat poison.

Fletcher has been waiting six years to find out Ross' fate.

"I still think about them every day, still dreaming about them, seeing them at night," Fletcher said as she choked up. "It's hard."

Despite the closure of finally knowing Ross' sentence, she said the healing process is still slow.
