Shops at Wiregrass: Popular with shoppers and shoplifters

The Shops at Wiregrass mall in Wesley Chapel is a popular spot for shoppers looking to get a great deal on clothing and accessories.

Parking spaces in front of many stores make it easy for consumers to get what they want without having to deal with walking into a traditional mall. Unfortunately, that layout also makes it easier for thieves to get in and out of stores with stolen goods.

So far this year, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office has responded to several shoplifting calls -- thieves walking away with thousands of dollars’ worth of items.

In one case, several women can be seen in footage walking into the Victoria's Secret store. They grab pricey undergarments and walk out of the store without paying. That was January 16.

Then in February, a woman walks out of the JCPenney store with a Sony Playstation 4 without paying.

Items have also been taken from the Justice and American Eagle stores.

Mall employees are asking shoppers to keep an eye out and be ready to help with any case.

If you have any questions about the incidents, please contact the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
