Skimmer found at Sarasota gas station

- Police want to warn people about another skimming device found at a Sarasota gas pump.

Officers were called by store employees at the Exxon at 1841 South Tamiami Trail after a routine check of the pumps showed the red anti-tampering tape was missing.

Police say it's important to check and see if that tape is missing or damaged.

Customers of this station are asked to check their bank statements and see if there are any unusual transactions.

Last week, police found a credit card skimmer planted inside a pump at the Marathon gas station off of Washington Boulevard.  They say that one could have been there for months.
