Tampa group protests Dakota Access Pipeline

TEMPLE TERRACE (FOX 13) - Dozens of protesters gathered Saturday afternoon at 56th Street and Fowler Avenue to protest the planned construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota.

The protesters were there in support of the Native Americans currently in a battle in the state with the company working on the pipeline. They say it threatens their tribal lands and could be a risk to the environment if there is a spill or other accident.

In Tampa, the protesters also voiced concern over the Mosaic leak of radioactive water into Florida's aquifer.

The protest was held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
