Fiona the hippo takes center stage during engagement

CINCINNATI, Ohio (FOX 13) - A newly engaged couple had a unique witness on their special day: Fiona the hippo.

Nick Kelble got down on one knee in the Cincinnati Zoo to propose to his now-fiance, Hayley Roll. Fiona, who was born in January, was front in center in her tank with her nose pushed against the glass wall as she watched Hayley say “yes.”

“We’re so happy Fiona could be there on our special day,” Hayley wrote in her Instagram post captured the moment. “Here’s to many more years of going to zoos with you.”

The couple shared a sweet kiss, blocking Fiona from view, before posing with her in one more photo.
