Arizona man wanted Winter Haven teen to be his 'sex slave,' deputies say
WINTER HAVEN (FOX 13) - An Arizona man was arrested for soliciting a Winter Haven teen for sex, in which detectives said their online conversations “consisted of extremely graphic sexual language.”
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the victim was a 13-year-old with mental health issues, and she is currently residing at the Peace River Mental Health Center, and is safe.
On July 30, the victim’s parents reported their daughter missing to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. When deputies began investigating, they said they found Greyhound bus tickets in the child’s room with name “Kevin Dock” on them. Judd said they learned Dock is a 30-year-old man who lives with his parents and 37-year-old wife in Tucson, Arizona.
The tickets were for a July 31 departure from Winter Haven, and an August 2 arrival in Tucson.
Detectives said the victim returned home that afternoon, and said she was going to see a “friend in Arizona,” and explained Dock contacted her through the website "Roleplay.Me" on June 23. Their conversation continued through Google’s Handouts app.
The agency said Dock sent the victim nude photos, and convinced her to do the same. Eventually, detectives said, he gave her directions to come to Arizona to become his "sex slave."
During a press conference, Judd held up an image showing Dock sitting on a bed, eating ice cream, with two cats, and said, “We know he’s a predator and we also know that he is weird.” The sheriff said Dock told the victim how to steal her grandmother's identity and purchase the bus ticket, which cost $200.
Polk County detectives said they took over the victim's social media accounts, posing as her. They received a warrant for Dock's arrest and flew to Arizona. Dock initially the victim that his parents didn't want her in the house, and suggested they meet at pet store inside a Tucson mall.
Instead, detectives met him. During the interview, Judd said Dock attempted to throw a bottle of urine at them, and then tried to spit on them. They had to place a "spit hood" over his head.
"He wasn't willing to confess," Judd said.
Tucson police assisted in the investigation, and said they found child pornography inside his home. Dock is expected to be extradited to Polk County to face several charges including transmitting harmful material to a minor, lewd battery and use of computer to lure a child.
"We will chase people to the ends of the earth when they want to harm our children," Judd said. "It’s simple. If he's not grooming and attacking the child here, he’s grooming and attacking the child someplace else."
