'Armed and dangerous' felon captured by Sarasota police

The Sarasota Police Department says a felon, suspected of shooting two women on Friday, has been arrested.

Linval Cohoone, 33, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Bradenton Tuesday.

Cohoone was wanted by the Sarasota Police Department in connection to a double shooting. Cohoone will be charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officers say they responded to a home at 21st Street around 1:30 Friday morning.  That's where they found two women who had been shot at close range.

The victims were both taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, but an update on their conditions was not available Tuesday.

Detectives say Cohoone has 45 previous felony charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, burglary, and more.
