Arrest made in Pinellas Park shooting death

- A man has been arrested for Friday night’s shooting death of 20-year-old Maruice Cole, according to a release from police.

24-year-old Derrion Vontrell Rich was taken into custody Sunday morning by the Pinellas Park Police Department and charged with first degree murder.

Police had been searching for Rich since obtaining a warrant Saturday morning. He was eventually located outside his home in St. Petersburg where he was arrested without incident.

Investigators believe the shooting was the result of a disagreement during a drug deal between Rich and Cole.

Rich is being held in the Pinellas County with no bond.
