An elderly woman was taken to the hospital after a truck crashed into her Tampa home.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the truck fled the scene.

It happened at a home on Pepperfield Drive, in the Plantation area of Carrollwood. Images from the scene showed a black pickup truck almost completely inside a block home.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue says when its crews got to the scene, they found the elderly woman and her dog, pinned to the couch. It took more than half an hour to free them.

The woman was flown to the hospital, but is expected to survive. The dog was not injured and was turned over to a family member.

Detectives said they believe Robert Devon Siders, III, 30, "may have more information about the crash."

Anyone who knows where he may be is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
