Lakewood High School senior killed in crash; others injured

- Police say a Lakewood High School senior was killed and two others injured when a vehicle crashed into a tree Tuesday afternoon.

The scene of the crash is at 54th Avenue S and 16th Court S.  That's just down the street from the school in south St. Pete.

The view from the scene showed a black vehicle that ended up partially wrapped around a tree. Police say the car was headed west on 54th when it hit the tree.

Bryson Welton-Williams, 18, died in the crash. Joshua Heath and Ramcharan Lattimore, both also 18, were injured, but it was not immediately clear how badly.

54th Avenue was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
