Lightning takes out part of sidewalk outside Florida business

- A powerful lightning strike was captured on camera taking out a portion of a sidewalk outside a Riverview business Wednesday morning.

Paul Henderson said the lightning bolt struck around 11 a.m. and blew out part of the sidewalk at the Canariis Corporation on Eagle Palm Drive.

The video captured by the business' surveillance system shows the blast and the pieces of concrete flying, with smoke rising from the hole left behind.

No one was injured.

The lightning strike was part of a large line of thunderstorms that moved through the Tampa Bay area Wednesday.
