Oklahoma man traveled to Venice to have sex with teen, deputies say
VENICE (FOX 13) - A 27-year-old man was arrested after he traveled to Venice to have sex with a 15-year-old, deputies said.
Detectives with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said they learned of the incidents on February 26, when the victim’s mother contacted them. They said the victim met Angelo Francisco Trigoso-Jara of Oklahoma, on a website designed for strangers to meet anonymously. The name of the website was not disclosed.
The victim disclosed her age during their first interaction, according to detectives, and Trigoso-Jara said he was 23 years old. He picked her up from her home and took her to a hotel where their sexual encounter occurred. In the following days, Trigoso-Jara continued to interact with the victim on social media, and sent her nude photos and videos.
Detectives said they tracked down Trigoso-Jara on Wednesday at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport with the assistance of federal officials, and members of the Arlington Police Department and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. They said he will be extradited to Sarasota County at a later date.
He faces charges including lewd and lascivious battery and traveling to meet a minor.
