Pasco deputies search for armed robbery suspect

- Pasco County deputies released surveillance video Wednesday of the man they believe is responsible for committing five robberies at gunpoint in six days.

The latest robberies happened Monday night, when someone held up the Be Creative Painting Studio in the Grove Shopping Plaza in Wesley Chapel and a Subway restaurant on State Road 54 in Lutz.

"It looks like he's targeting later at night when there may be one or possibly two people in the location," said Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

The spree of armed robberies started Feb. 8, when the same man hit a Citgo gas station in Wesley Chapel.

From there, things turned even more violent. The same night as the gas station robbery, the criminal fired a shot while robbing the Best Western hotel near the Grove Plaza. Two days later, he fired his gun again while robbing a Metro PCS cell phone store in Zephyrhills.

"This is very personal when we know there could have been a family in there," Nocco told reporters during a news conference Wednesday. "The really scary thing is this individual is already shooting at people and we know that violence can escalate."

Along with surveillance video and photos of the possible suspect, the sheriff also released pictures car the robber is believed to have been driving.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office or Crime Stoppers, which is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
