A fun Sunday at the dog park turned bitter for several families. They say their cars were broken into and several belongings were stolen while they were close by playing with their furry friends.

"This is happening right below our nose and we don't even know it," said Kathy Magee, one of the three victims.

The break-ins happened at Dog Leg Woods Park, which was unveiled by the city just this month.

The crooks busted a few car windows, and according to one of the victims, reached inside to grab what they could without setting the alarm off. Credit cards, ID's, and a birth certificate were just some of the items stolen.

The Lakeland Police Department is investigating.
